I was approached by an old chum of mine who needed a mark for a proposed line of winter sports apparel. He and his partners were looking for an icon that represented winter fused with an urban, graffiti-like aesthetic. Playing off their line's name (ARO), I covered countless pages with "devils tale" arrow sketches which I then amalgamated with the shape of a snowflake rendered in perspective.
