Launched in 2008, the Baxa Corporate web site was designed to provide a global platform for information exchange, product marketing, public relations, and sales and technical support for health-system pharmacists and nurses, as well as pharmaceutical industry representatives. In addition, the corporate web site was intended to showcase the Baxa brand, which stands for “high tech with a human touch.”

This site was the first major web project undertaken by the in-house Creative Services department. The Baxa Creative Services team collaborated with SpireMedia to not only create the customer-facing site, but also the customized content management system.

Unique features of this site include an Info Cart that allows users to collect product literature while browsing the site for download to their desktops into a centralized folder. This feature was added in lieu of a traditional shopping cart as online ordering is not currently a part of the Baxa Corp. sales model.  Recently, an interactive product module was added that allows users to view Baxa products in a full 360 degree, zoomable rotation. Certain products also feature flash-based video demonstrations and links to custom-built micro sites.

For this site, I served as lead designer, project/content manager and for some of the flash-based elements, lead programmer (in a small, primarily print-based in-house creative team, one has to wear many hats). I consulted with the Spire team for the overall I/A and user-interface design. The Spire team also handled the initial front-end and back-end development. This project has been ongoing since launch as my team and I consistently upgrade and update the site with new content and features. Future additions include a freshening of the overall design, an upgraded CMS and the addition of international content deployed in multiple languages.
